Ivan was born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island, before spending his undergraduate years in Pennsylvania, where he graduated from Haverford College in 2023. After graduation, Ivan spent two years working as a genetic counseling assistant in the Neurogenetics department at Boston Children's Hospital. As a first-generation Dominican American, Ivan is passionate about increasing access within the field of genetic counselling for patients and providers from all backgrounds. His research and work at Boston Children’s particularly focused on serving the hospital’s Spanish-speaking population. A devoted FC Barcelona fan, Ivan is also a youth and adult soccer referee and has been since 2014. He enjoys listening to music, traveling, trying new foods, playing pickup soccer, watching sports, and spending time with friends.
